These instruments are used for individuals with unexplained hematochezia (blood in stool), mucoid stools, dysentery, chronic diarrhea, significant changes in stool form, or irregular bowel habits. They are also used for ligating and cauterizing polyps and for obtaining tissue samples from suspicious lesions for pathological examination.

Description:

Proctosigmoidoscopy is a simple and effective examination method that can detect higher lesions that are not palpable during a digital rectal examination. It also allows for the collection of tissue biopsies from suspicious  lesions to confirm a diagnosis. Additionally, through sigmoidoscopy, it is possible to perform electrocautery on colonic and rectal polyps.
